All vehicles lug studs are of different size and strength, so with that in mind the vehicle manufacturers determine what level of torque is required for each model vehicle. This depends on the size and weight of each model, and varies greatly.
At Richard’s Tyrepower, our fully trained technicians will carefully bolt your wheels back on to your vehicle by using a tool ( torque wrench ) that will leave your lug nuts at the correct tension set by the manufacturer. This is called the torque setting.

By performing this process we ensure you are safe and your vehicle drives smoothly.
Other tyre outlets are not this caring and will over tighten the lug nuts which causes many safety problems such as:

• The threads are damaged and stretched
• Usually impossible to undo with the vehicles wrench
• The lug studs can break clean off whilst driving
• Brakes can be damaged and warped reducing their life
• Causes damage to light weight alloy wheels
• In the event of a punctured tyre in a remote location it leaves the driver stranded and maybe in a dangerous predicament  eg; at night in a seedy neighborhood
